Karel Horinek

was born on 2nd June 1936 in Olomouc. In 1951-1954 he attended the stonesculptoral school in Zulova. In 1954-1958 he studied the Arts and Crafts School in Uherske Hradiste, the subject of the applied sculptural creation led by the professors Jan Habarta and Stanislav Mikulastik. After finishing his studies he worked in a stonework company Stavba until 1963. Since 1964 he is a freelancing sculptor and restorer. He performed many study travels, among other he visited India, Egypt, Brazil and Cuba. In 1979-1988 he was a member of the Czech Creative Artists' Fund. Since 1990 he's also a member of the Union of the Artists of Olomouc. He lives and works in Olomouc.

Since the beginning of 1960s he took part in many collective exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Since 1990 he regularly exhibits at the member exhibitions of the Union of the Artists of Olomouc.
